After Kim Kardashian Tweeted about Kanye West dropping new music on Fridays leading up to Swish, Kanye came through on his word and dropped a new record with a special snippet at the end. The initial track is titled ‘Real Friends’ featuring Ty Dolla Sign and production by Kanye, with a sample by Frank Dukes and Boi-1da. Towards the end, a snippet of a track titled ‘No More Parties In LA’ featuring Kendrick Lamar starts playing, but cuts off during Kendrick’s verse. That record was produced by Madlib.
Listen to Kanye’s last release, Facts, produced by Southside and Metro Boomin.
Update: Official Final Version Added
As it turns out, Madlib’s beat for “No More Parties in LA” can be traced all the way back to 2010 and ‘Ye’s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy sessions. A few years ago, Kanye was featured in some bonus footage from Stones Throw’s Our Vinyl Weighs a Ton documentary where he shared his admiration for Madlib and talked about working with him in the studio.
“I just paint the scene of how I felt sitting there with Madlib working on these tracks and just hearing the textures,” he said, before rapping the line, “Over at the crib you left your Ray Bans/My sheets still orange from your spray tan/No more parties in LA/No more parties in LA.” That’s pretty much what he what he rhymes on the preview of “No More Parties in LA”: “Hey baby you forgot your Ray Bans/And my sheets still orange from your spray tan.”
